This 40’ standard box car with plug door and no roofwalk is car #17 of a 44-car series representing each of the presidents of the United States. It bears the portrait of our 37th president, Richard Nixon. The car comes with a commemorative pin replicated from that era. Reconciliation was the goal during Nixon’s Presidency. He succeeded in ending American fighting in Viet Nam and improving relations with the U.S.S.R. and China. But the Watergate scandal brought fresh divisions to the country and ultimately led to his resignation.
