Built in March of 1965 by Hawker Siddeley Canada Ltd., this 50’ standard box car with plug door is painted light brown with white lettering on sides and ends. The shield is red and contains the words ‘NEWSPRINT SERVICE ONLY’ in white. The ‘Canadian Pacific’ script lettering was introduced in 1964 but was replaced by the CP multi-mark paint scheme in 1968. Through many acquisitions of other lines, by 1980 the CP had created a true transcontinental railroad from the Atlantic to the Pacific.
