Florida East Coast’s largest commodity behind intermodal is gravel quarried in the area around Hialeah and used for construction projects in Florida and elsewhere. Built by Greenville in the summer of ’65, this group of hoppers is presented here as they appeared after 1974 with ACI tags and 2-box consolidated stencils. If the road number style looks familiar, it is the same one used by Southern Railway at the time. The two companies were unrelated but frequent interchange partners.
