This Maine Central caboose with Bettendorf swing motion trucks was built in the early 1940s and painted in the yellow/green "think Safety, Work Safely" paint scheme. Maine Central was founded in 1862 and was one of the largest railroads in New England, with over 1,000 miles of track by the 1970s.
