Atlantic Coast Line - Road #: ACL 52119 - 40' Standard Boxcar w/ Double Doors
This 40’ standard box car with double doors is painted brown with white circular ‘Atlantic Coast Line’ herald and lettered in white. It was built by Pullman-Standard in February 1941, serviced in July 1955, and runs on Bettendorf trucks. ACL 52119 was originally equipped with racks for automobile service; by the service date of 1955 it was used to move paper and lumber. It was one of the last box cars decorated in the older, Gothic-style lettering employed between 1951 and 1956. The lettering was applied at the Waycross, GA shop. This series was one of many that received Prismo stripes with reflective glass beads applied in an effort to make them more visible.
