Built for New Haven by the Pressed Steel Car Company in 1941, this 40’ boxcar with Bettendorf trucks was serviced in 1956 and repainted into the “Large N over H” scheme. The New Haven Railroad was founded in 1872 and headquartered in New Haven, Connecticut. Even though it made it through several bankruptcies, the railroad eventually became unprofitable and was rolled into the Penn Central railroad conglomerate in 1968.
